The Villa Firenze Foundation was founded in 2008 to promote a better understanding of Italy throughout the United States. The Foundation was named after Villa Firenze, a distinctive and historic structure located in Washington, D.C.; it has served as the residence of the Ambassador of Italy to the United States since 1976. The Foundation’s primary mission is to enhance and foster cultural, educational and economic exchanges between the United States and Italy. In addition, the Foundation will provide scholarships and internships for graduate students from Italy and the United States to study and work in both countries.
The activities of the Foundation are charitable and educational; it is qualified as a not-for-profit entity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
